I have a group of beloved & dear friends that has been getting together for 11 years.
It started as Bunco, then we gave it up about 9 years ago.
It turned into bookclub.
Then we took turns hosting dinner each month.
One year, we helped each other with projects around the house, i.e. painting, decorating, manual labor.
The older we get (and our kids get), the harder it is to get together each month.
But we still try.
And the amazing thing about these friends is that we all lift each other up.
Support eachother.
Listen to each other.
And they make ME want to be a BETTER person.
What more can you ask for?
Plus, we laugh an awful lot together.
Another common ground?
We adore our husbands.
In fact, we sometimes invite our husbands to join us.
Like at our annual summer BBQ. Usually, the ladies sit around chatting and the guys shoot hoops and hang out.
But this year was different.
This year...
and the guys sat around "chatting" and watching the girls play basketball!
(Missing this year--Carol & Kelli, who both recently delivered sweet babies. Congrats!)
